UK-based aerospace material supplier Frasers Aerospace has secured the exclusive worldwide distribution rights for the ‘Bacoban for Aerospace’ liquid anti-viral product as the first product in a new range of aircraft interior surface protective products to be marketed under the Aeroglas brand.
Bacoban for Aerospace (‘BFA’) is a fully approved anti-bacterial and anti-viral surface protector which, says the company, not only kills bacteria and viruses upon application within five minutes, but also leaves an anti bacterial/anti-viral protective coating on the surface which lasts for up to 10 days.
The product has been in use in hospitals, clean-rooms and other bacteria-sensitive environments within Europe for some years, but has now been approved for specific aviation use. It has already been introduced to a variety of operators both in the commercial and business jet sectors, with Emirates being the lead adopter of BFA in the commercial sector.
The product does not contain Aldehyde or Phenol, is water based, leaves an easy-clean coating, and is certified to the standards for disinfectant use in aircraft (AMS 1451B & 1452B) and the internationally recognised ASTM E 2180 test.
