It is not widely understood that so much damage can be caused by cleaning a LED / TFT/LCD or Plasma screen with an inappropriate chemical or by inappropriate means.
Cleaning a delicate screen with furniture polish, glass cleaner or any cleaner that contains alcohol or is based upon detergents can only lead to screen damage thorough delamination and crazing. Both of these will tend to happen in the corners of the screen where the pressure points are most likely to be at the greatest. Once this damage is caused there is no economic repair and the screen can be classed as unserviceable.
Using the wrong type of applicator can also cause damage to the screen. Damage is often caused by people trying to clean screens with paper hand towels. These towels are extremely abrasive due to the amount of wood chips within them.
With screens, even in the home, costing thousands of pounds, it is essential that only proven and approved methods are used to clean screens.
The AgfaPhoto range of screen cleaning products is said to be the only product range to receive approval from the TV Rheinland testing authority for use on LED, LCD/TFT or Plasma screens. The TV Rheinland proving house is world renowned and highly respected as being a stringent testing authority.
During testing, unprecedented cleaning efficacy is proven by the use of REM (raster electron microscope) imaging. Magnification of the cleaned surfaces at x200 magnification indicated that the AgfaPhoto products are exceptional and cause no damage to either the coating or the surface. All AgfaPhoto cleaning products are completely alcohol free.
